Sonic Boom Scribble

I actually drew this scribble a month or two before the Sonic Boom games even came out and I've been meaning to upload it ever since as well as give my own opinion on the new continuity and what not. Ahh well better late then never I guess. I also drew these my memory so forgive me for any mistakes in the designs (I didn't even attempt to draw Amy's design hence why she's a tiny scribble at the corner there).

So it turns out this new Sonic Boom continuity is generally not liked by the fans mainly because the games ("Rise Of Lyric" the Wii U game in particular) are supposedly bad games. I can't really give my opinions on "Rise Of Lyric" since I lack a Wii U but from what I gathered from watching game play videos it looks like a very boring repetitive game. Not really bad just boring. Granted it has a few glitches but nothing particularly game ruining.

As for the 3DS game "Shattered Crystal" which I do own. It isn't that much better. Don't get me wrong it's very playable and more stable then the Wii U game. My biggest gripe when the game is that there is NO reason to get a 100% game file. You see the plot of "Shattered Crystal" is to gather the shattered crystal shards to prevent the new baddie Lyric from becoming all powerful and ruling the world. You don't need to collect all of them to beat the game and stop Lyric so I was expecting like a FINAL final boss battle like Super Sonic vs Super Lyric or something but what you actually get is... A figure... Yep no Super Lyric boss battle you get a Sonic Boom equivalent of a Smash Bros trophy... I guess Lyric really wanted that figure didn't he ??? It's sad because the actual game although quite easy is still enjoyable. It's just that the destination of the journey is worthless.

Anyway as for the cartoon... It's alright. I've only seen about 5 or so episodes but it's enjoyable. The humor seems a little forced a times but it's generally made for children and it's children who get the most enjoyment out of the series.

In fact that can basically be said for the "Sonic Boom" series as a whole. It's made for children in mind and not for the older fans like myself and while that's not really an excuse for mediocre games. It still isn't a reason for the fanbase to get in such a big fuss over.
